We are pleased that After School Clubs are able to resume this term.  After School Clubs are run by Matt Dingle and the team from 1:1 FFPC.  The coaches also take our school PE lessons so the coaches are familiar visitors to the school and they have good relationships with the children.  The coaches are participating in the bi-weekly LFD testing which supports the school in staying Covid-19 safe.

Clubs will start during the week of Monday 26th April.  It is hoped they will continue to run until the end of the Summer term but this is subject to guidance provided by the Government or the Local Authority.

We are delighted to inform parents that the PE and Sport Premium funding is enabling us to fully subsidise sports clubs and therefore we are able to offer these clubs free of charge to participating children.  The PE and Sport Premium funding is given to schools to encourage children to take part in physical activity, develop an awareness of a healthy lifestyle and to promote mental and emotional as well as physical well-being.  Using this funding to subsidise clubs means that children who attend need to have a genuine interest in the club and will participate fully and enthusiastically should they be allocated a place.

If your child would like to attend an After School Club, please follow this link to complete the Google form.  To gain access to the link you will be asked to sign into Google.  If you have not signed into Google before, you will be asked to create an account using your existing email address.

This term, we are limited to a maximum of 16 children per club, so we are requesting that two club preferences are given on the Google form to increase the likelihood of being allocated a place.  Places at clubs will be allocated based on criteria that is given in the guidance for PE and Sport Premium funding and in a way that ensures fairness and accessibility for all.  If your child’s first preference is not available, we will allocate their second preference where possible.

A waiting list for clubs will be created if there are more children wishing to attend than we are able to allocate.  Repeat non-attendance, non-participation or poor behaviour at a club will result in a child losing their place and a child on the waiting list being offered the place instead.

The closing date for completing the Google form is 9.00am on Monday 26th April.  Parents will receive an email to advise if their child has a place in a club.

 Clubs will run as follows:

 Mondays – Athletics and Summer Sports - Years R, 1 and 2

Tuesdays - Athletics and Summer Sports - Years 3, 4, 5 and 6

Wednesdays – Cricket - Years 3, 4, 5 and 6

Thursdays – Ball Skills – Years R, 1 and 2

We are aware that some parents/carers use the sports clubs as after school care; if your child is not allocated a place at a club which would affect your childcare, Jo Kent, supervisor at Chuckleberries, offers after school care from 3:15-5:45pm every day for £5/hour per child.  Jo is an Ofsted registered childminder; if you are interested in using this facility, please telephone Jo on 01798 300588.

If you have any further queries regarding After School Clubs, please email Mrs Lewis at the School Office.  We look forward to being able to see the children enjoying the After School Clubs; we have very much missed this aspect of school life and it is a joy to be able to offer this opportunity to you again!
